wednesday post

surprise! 'tis only wednesday, and i'm home!
cool. see, i'm home coz i've been threatening all the nurses, doctors therapists, and any other hospital employees that if they don't let me home for my 21st, i'd run away. so here i am, happily plonked in front of the computer.
highlight of the week - well, there was actually a few! 1. kylie, dani and mel all came to wish me a happy bday!we all went down to starbucks, and kylie even made me a cake, complete with icing and lollies! kylie just apologised that she couldn't put any candles on it for fear of setting off the fire alarm! i was a pig and had 2 slices, then we cut dad a HUGE slice and mum a slightly smaller slice :P before handing the rest to wally and jenny to enjoy. that brings us to no. 2 - congrats to wally, he's outta the hospital now!him and jenny also gave me a lovely card and a devotional book by joni eareckson tada (don't quote me on the spelling of that name, but if i remember correctly, she's a quadraplegic or hemiplegic, or some other-plegic. ) 3. beautiful icecream at lunch today - seeing as it'swednesday - and habib plonked the icecream in frontof me and said in his gruff voice, "happy birthday".4. house tonight! and seeing as that writer's strike or whatever is over? i don't want another rerun episode, but oh well. 5. i spent most OF THIS WEEK TELLING ORLI THAT HE'D BETTER GET ME A B'DAY PRESENT OR ELSE. I MEAN, THIS WAS THE BAD NURSE WHO TOLD ME I HAD A fat bum!!!!! >< (sorry, i just noticed caps was on). at first, orli said he'd buy me a horse, but i was honestly very surprised when he handed me a wrapped package this morning! i gave him a hug, said thank-you, and opened it. inside, a brand new wallet from overseas! he then had me open the coin purse on the side, and in it, two shiny $1 coins. "to help you escape toms if you really need to." says he. " 2 there in case you stuff up." i thanked him again, gave him another hug, then said he was now my favourite nurse (usually, it's linda). i did ask him what happened to my horse, and he delegated amy to explain that to me. "see, he caught one for you," says she, " but then he was too big to fit into his car,so we let the horse go and he got you that wallet instead. apparently he actually got it overseas."
so, toms at 6:22pm i turn 21. cool thing though - i found out that i have the same bday as robin's wife! i was bemoaning the fact that i would wake up on friday morning with an entire headful of grey hair, but "pish." said she, " you're only a baby. i had my 21st at least 21 years ago."
before we went we visited 2C once more to give easter eggs to lan. i said hi to pualie too (pronounced polly). the receptionist there who likes reading too, his name is joseph. so we started getting ready to go home. i had a shower, got a cuppa from the tea lady. amy said use equal, so i addedone more sugar for some taste. suzanne was lovely and gave me a hug and a bday card signed by everyone she could possibly find - even a cleaner!
well, cool. toms we have an early physio appointment at8:30, then mum's promised to take me to maccas for breakkie! yay, i mean, i have only been pining after a bacon and egg mcmuffin for what? 9 months?

p.s. mrs dent, my primary school librarian, came back from thailand after watching her godson marry a thai girl, and, as promised, she brought me back a teddy! i was going to call him robert (after her husband) but she suggested 'bok' coz she got it in bang kok! i'm just relieved she didn't tell me to call it 'kok'! (think of the correct spelling for that word).oh, almost forgot: she got me a mini cake from michel's patessierie (however they're spelt). mum and her both sang me 'happy birthday' before happily tucking in. oh, and we left a big slice for dad, of course.
p.p.s. go dad's awesome bedtime story! titled 'mini olympics', the participants were dad, mum, me, bear bear, jimmy, giant, and miss pig as the spectator. dad went swimming, mum went sleep - sorry, i mean walking, i went bike riding, giant did weight lifting, bear bear went tree climbing and jimmy did thehurdles. a victorius day for all. !^^
