friday post

yo! so, mum made me walk 2535 steps today. yay, i passed both 1 and 2 grands today! :)
anyways, sleepy me got up, and had a quick trip to the loo, b4 mum made me walk to the breakfast table. breakkie was yummy - porridge! it could've done with a little more honey, but it was still heaps yum. that done, mum made me walk to the car, where off to the doctor's we went. mum then made me walk inside the clinic, us saying hi to various doctors, nurses and receptionists along the way. one noisy bum massage later, i asked mum to please get me my wheelchair so i can please go to the loo, but mum refused and made me walk to the loo anyway. tyrant. :P so mum made me walk back out to the car, where we drove home. then mum made me walk inside, where lunch for me was a very yummy 'chicken hotpot' microwaveable meal with some veges and lotsa creamy mash! yummy^^ as usual, i ate all the veges first b4 attacking the chicken and mashed potatoes simultaneously (hope that's spelt vaguely right) mum had the porridge for lunch, and she also says i'll have it for arvo tea. wonder if kerrywill let me put a teaspoon or so of honey into it. i hope so! anyways, lunch over, mum's gone to sit on the loo and i've been allowed to pop online. i still haven't remembered the password that lets me access the net, and mum won't tll me! oh well, bummer.
anyways, off to check email and send weekly report to my physios. hope to see most of yous at UF tonight! or if not, then at church on sunday. adios! (i still haven't figured out what language that's in ... anyone? maybe spanish?
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. no massage to go to tonight, coz i went on thursday night instead. and today, it'll be kerry coming over, coz lonely's got uni. byebye!

thursday post

ok, so mum mde me walk 2185 steps today. score - both 1 & 2 grands busted!
so, got up this morning, mum made me walk out to the dining room, where breakfast was toast with a little marg and my favourite strawberry jam, plus a cup of milo. mum then made me walk out to the car, where off to hospital we trundled. a quick trip to the loo once we got there, then OT at 9am. katherine says next week will be the last session; we did mainly theraputty work today. i was mega happy coz habib wandered along, so 2 bikkies and a white tea and 2 equal for me, and 2 bikies and white and 1 for mum. yummy happy! OT done, another trip to the loo, then back to the waiting room for us. i read a gossip magazine, as mum listened to my ipoddy. we met a man called lee/leigh who speaks some canto! he says 'fried noodles', 'eat chicken and 'thankyou' how cool is that! he walks too. when mum went to park the car again, the nice nurse that congratulated my walking got me a lovely cuppa, white and 2 and 2 bikkies. too bad mum had to come back and still half along with a bikkie. oh well. so i wanted to go say hi to the people in BIRU so mum made me walk in, we saw amy, and bob, and sarah. i also said hi to helen. mum got permission to weigh me - i'm steady at 63.5kg. huh, better not gain anymore! me not really interested in being a fat pig!so mum made me walk out, not before we saw habib playing pool by himself! i asked him if he was winning, and he said, "of course." hehe. mum then made me walk out of BIRU and down a fair way until we got to some chairs. i was just happy coz i finally saw janelle! so a quick chat, then blessed relief as mum finally got my chair, and we went down to have lunch. one yummy fish and chips and gravy, plus a choccie milk for me and an OJ for mum. we also got the paper, then it was off to the P&O we trundled. we saw sue again, who added sth to my boot bottom and got me to stand. looked alright, too. so we said our thanks and left. another trip to the loo, and i was glad to see mustufar, who when i laughed at him about QLD winning the state of origin 3x in a row, he just said,"oh well. we'll win one soon." actually mum thinks i'm delusional and didn't say that, but oh well. doesn't matter.
so, we arrived home at 2pm. i popped online, and am chatting to kylie. lonely got here around the time i typed OJ, and she'll take me to vincent the physio tonight. 5:30pm instead of 5 or 6. so, showertime for me. see yous toms!
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. we're not sure if lonely come next thursday ...
p.p.s. 'ndlovu' is how to spell lonely's last name properly. okies, byebye! showertime~~~~~

wednesday post

well, it's 519 from what mum made me do last night, and 998 from aunty yvonne this morning, which equals ... 1517! cool - i busted the 1000 mark! (ok, so i cheated and used the google internet calculator ... nyah, who cares? :P lol)
well, i had a happy sleep in this morning, before aunty yvonne popped up. so we went heaps and heaps and HEAPS of walkabouts, my leg shaking like there's no tomorrow. i also flumphed on the bed for awhile of bed exercises - namely, me swaying left and right on my knees. then, more walking till finally lunch time - thanks to mum who made a wesome fried rice, in soy (or is it soya ? sauce beats me ...)with just eggs and ham. yuuuuuuuum!!!!!!so we all had some, mine washed down with a glass of milk, mum'a and aunty yvonne's with a cup of tea. ding dong! who was it but aunty vicky? so aunty yvonne left, and mum got aunty vicky a bowl of fried rice too, then made me a cup of tea with a little honey - thanks mum!^^aunty vicky's going to china soon - even better, she's promised to bring me back a panda! yay^^ i'll finally have a friend to call 'wai wai' or was it 'ling ling"? ah well, either way. i just hope mum doesn't read this post, or there'll be a dead em in the midst! ><"
so, aunty vicky said her byes, and i plopped online. too bad - i still need mum to type in a password so i can access the net! >< i promise i don't access porno websites! that's just DISGUSTING ewwww.
anyways, it turns out lonely could make it to our house, so no mum to help me in the shower. oh well. :(matthew's coming at 2pm i think, and lonely at 3. her last name's sth strange like 'ndolbvu' or sth like that, anyway. i'mm off to read the news now, toms is just OT, no PT, coz apparently it's already 8 weeks! i SWEAR it hasn't been that long yet, oh well. so the plan is:OT at 9, then mum will make me do some physio with the parallel bars, then we'll go down to the canteen for lunch - i want sth with lotsa gravy! - then it's to the P&O to fix my silly splint again. at least it doesn't hurt anymore, just makes my heel and ankle go bright red.
i was just going to say, it's 5 past 2, so matthew is late again, then DING DONG! he gets here. he declines a cup of tea or coffee, admitting he's already had 3 cups already. remember, when i was still hospitalised i'd get 6 cups a day! he just asked me a few questions, like how i was doing at home, and how i was with the carers, etc. then he allowed me back online, so it's mum just chatting with him now.
oh, and have i already said? mum says i can have the remainder of the fried rice for arvo tea. yummy!
well, off to read the news now. see yous toms!
cheers,
em. ^^

tuesday post

well, mum made me do 950 steps before physio today, and i did 1150 with the physio this morning, so that equals ... 2100. yay, 1 and 2 grands passed again!
so, got up this morning. mum made me walk out to the gobbling table, where breakfast was a piece of toast with marg and lovely strawberry jam, and a cup of cold milo. with a teaspoon! yay, thanks mum!aunty joanne came soon after - i've said this before, right? her family all starts with the letter 'j' - she's joanne, he's jason, and their little girl is called jessie. personally, i just think that's adorable. ^^SO, MUM MADE ME WALK - sorry, shrieking! - to the car, and off we trundled to the day hospital. i went to the toilet once before mum made me walk in to the day hospital. just lotsa walking with linelle today, up and down the parallel bars. i met 2 new physio assistants, one who's been here around as long as bob, the other, a whopping 30 years! wow... one of them -and sorry, i've forgotten both their names - helped me walk outside with linelle - her last name, before i forget, is kelly. so i got a good dose of vitamin D today. good-o. actually, the clonus in my foot came back today - what i call my parkinsons - but linelle just taught me to stop where i was and wait for it to go away before starting again. i guess i should be grateful - the three botox injections are only supposed to last 6 months - mine lasted longer than that!
so mum and aunty joanne came to pick me back up - thankfully, i was allowed back into sparkless. so i had mum take me to see bob- actually, he appeared even before i got to BIRU, he was kinda in the hallway. so i gave him a hug and had a nice long laugh at him about miserable manly losing, while my brave broncos won! haha~~~
so, off we tootled home. mum made me walk inside and we said bye and thanks to aunty joanne, who declined to have lunch with us. mum made us yummy kebabs - the last of the chicken for me, beef for her. i gave her my icky mushrooms, but ate all my kinda icky carrots. a glass of milk to wash it all down, then dear dad rang us!he's at everton park too, having lunch. i think mum is hanging the washing or sth like that. very sad that pole couldn't find me for lunch today, but oh well, expected. think aunty yvonne is coming also toms, like i've also said before - no biggie. even better, mum says if i promise to walk my silly legs off - she'll make fried rice for us!yuuuumy! see yous toms!
cheers,
em. ^^-
p.s. thank goodness this mouse has an 'undo' button. i was typing this, when suddenly ... ?????????/!!!!!!!!my post has gone on the trot!i was bemoaning the fact i'd have to type this all up again, but the timely appearance of the 'undo' button on the right click mouse button menu saved me. phew.
p.p.s. and poor lily fell from my silly left hand, and so she started shrieking for me to help. luckily, it was lily who heard her, and joined in the shrieking. so i eventually heard, and saw poor lily on the floor, so i called for mum who rescued my poor sheep. lily's okay now, just resting on the table, and lillian's nodding her head, watching over her.
p.p.p.s. turns out matthew can't come this arvo - he's tied up with another client. so he'll come toms instead.
p.p.p.p.s. email sending time! bye!!!!!!!^^
p.p.p.p.p.s. kerry just rang and said she can't make it eith - she's got a headache. well, i hope she feels better soon, but as for me, i'm just glad it'll be mum helping shower me tonight. yay, i miss that!

monday post

cool, i not only passed the 1000 mark, i passed the 2000 and 3000 marks too!^^ well, 3172, to be exact.
so, got up this morning when aunty wendy arrived, went to the loo, then mum made me walk out to the dining room. aunty wendy was a darling and made some pasta in soup for me and mum to gobble, which we did, happily. mum went to buy me a new alarm clock, while aunty wendy and i watched the news, did exercises, and went to the loo twice. mum came back, no time for lunch, really, just made me walk out to the car and we tootled off to the doctors. when we arrived, mum made me walk inside. i had to go to the loo, so she made me walk in and out of there too. so, one comfy bum massage later, mum made me walk out and we chugged home. back home, mum made me walk in, where she half-fried, half-boiled some dumplings aunty joanne had made us! very yummy!kerry came soon after, and gave me a shower. hair washed today. we had a hot drink after, ovaltine for me, tea with a teaspoon of honey for her. we watched the news and did some exercises, before mum woke up, came down, and made me ride bike 500+ rotations. but she says she won't do any herself until i'm up and walking again. hmph. what can i say ... my life sucks. get used to it. lol. so, we watched the news, and when it was time for her to go, mum made me walk her out then made me walk back to ewat dinner. yummy dinner over, i drank a cup of pear juice, and as mum went to turn the net on, dad made me walk over to the computer. so, just blogging now, and talking to vince. well, bugging him for more p[ostcards :P somehow i don't think i'll get my 2 hrs worth of time online, but oh well. maybe toms.
well, that's it from me tonight folks, laters! fingers, toes, and all other appendages crossed that pole rings us for lunch toms! too bad, mum refuses to ring her though. and i can't ask smelly until august, either. oh well. good nite!
cheers,
em. ^!!^

sunday post

well - a new record today! last nite and this morning i walked 1987 steps (cool - incidentally, the year i was born) and this arvo and night was a whopping 3505 steps! making the total ... *blushes and digs out the internet calculator again* 5492! score! pretty good, i hope? ^^ so i'm just in sparkless right now, talking to joshels, who works mon-sat! wow, he must be getting rich ... wonder what he's saving up for?
anyways, got up this morning kinda earlyish. mum and dad made me walk out to the dining room, where was breakfast was marg and jam on toast with a cup of milo. *sigh* with a tablespoon. oh well. that had, parents made me walk out to the car, where we toddled off to church.at church, i was made to walk in, where i was very happy to see liam, who talked about pain management and moses lifting up his hands to ask for god's help, and how his 2 friends held them up for him when he got too tired. sermon over, and communion finished too, mum made me walk into the loo for a pee. back out, we had a quick chat with friends before mum made me walk out to the car. all buckled in, i chatted to a few aunties, one of whom promised to bring me some dumplings! *drools* too bad i can't remember who, though! >< actually, we forgot to pay pole back for the drink - she got me a lychee green tea with rainbow jelly! seriously very yummy!^^ i think she had a peach one. mine was better. seriously!:P thanks to julz or joey who helped me get the last liddle bits of jelly, then even ripped open the cup for me so i could get the ice! actually, this arvo, pole is taking joey to some careers expo at griffith or uq. i hope she finds some good direction!
lunch all gobbled up, it was movie time! mum went to buy me the ticket first - then uncle slam and i went to see batman - the dark knight! seriously good movie - here are some of my fav quotes from imdb:
Detective Wuertz: Dent! Jesus, I thought you was dead!
Two-Face: Half...
Harvey Dent: The famous Bruce Wayne. Rachel's told me everything about you.
Bruce Wayne: I certainly hope not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gotham National Bank Manager: The criminals in this town used to believe in things. Honor. Respect. Look at you! What do you believe in? What do you believe in!
The Joker: I believe whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger.
Happy: So why do they call him "The Joker"?
Dopey: I heard he wears make-up.
Happy: Make-up?
Dopey: Yeah, to scare people. You know, war paint.
Harvey Dent: You're Alfred, right?
Alfred Pennyworth: That's right, sir.
Harvey Dent: You've known Rachel her entire life.
Alfred Pennyworth: Not yet, sir.
Harvey Dent: Any psychotic ex-boyfriends I should be aware of?
Alfred Pennyworth: Oh, you have no idea!
Bruce Wayne: That man in Burma, did you ever catch him?
Alfred Pennyworth: Oh yes.
Bruce Wayne: How?
Alfred Pennyworth: We burned the forest.
[last lines]
Lt. James Gordon: Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now...and so we'll hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector...a dark knight
The Joker: The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Joker: See, I'm not a monster...I'm just ahead of the curve.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Joker: See, I'm a man of simple tastes. I like gunpowder...and dynamite...and gasoline! Do you know what all of these things have in common? They're cheap!
The Joker: What does not kill you, makes you stranger!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lucius Fox: Spying on 30 million people is not part of my job description.
The Joker: People will die. Starting tonight. I'm a man of my word.
The Joker: You look nervous. Is it the scars? You want to know how I got them? Come here. Hey, look at me. So I had a wife, beautiful; like you. Who tells me, I worry too much. Who tells me, I ought to smile more. Who gambles, and gets in deep with sharks. One day they carve her face. We have no money for surgeries. She can't take it! I just want to see her smile again. I just want her to know that I don't care about the scars. So I stick a razor in my mouth and do this... to myself. And you know what? She can't stand the sight of me! She leaves. Now I see the funny side. Now I'm always smiling!
The Joker: [Rachel kicks the Joker away] A little fight in you. I like that.
Batman: Then you're going to love me.
Harvey Dent: Tell your son it's going to be okay, Gordon. Lie, like I lied.
Batman: Sometimes, truth isn't good enough, sometimes people deserve more. Sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded.
Alfred Pennyworth: [looks at the large gash on Bruce's arm] Were you mauled by a tiger?
Bruce Wayne: It was a dog...
Alfred Pennyworth: Huh?
Bruce Wayne: It was a big dog!
[pause]
Bruce Wayne: More copycats today, Alfred, with guns.
Alfred Pennyworth: Why don't you hire them and take the weekend off?
Two-Face: The Joker's just a mad dog. I want whoever let him off the leash.
Rachel Dawes: [to Batman after falling out of a window] Let's not do that again.
The Chechen: They won't work for a freak...
The Joker: [mocking his accent] A freak...
The Joker: [mocking his accent] A freak...
[pulls out his switchblade and tosses it to some goons who grabs the Chechen]
The Joker: Why don't we cut you up into little pieces and feed you to your pooches? Hmm? Then we'll see, how loyal, a hungry dog really is. It's not about the money... it's about... sending a message. Everything burns.
Alfred Pennyworth: Know your limits, Master Wayne.
Bruce Wayne: Batman has no limits.
Alfred Pennyworth: But you do, sir.
Bruce Wayne: Well, can't afford to know them.
The Joker: You have nothing to threaten me with. Nothing to do with all your strength.
The Joker: You just couldn't let me go could you? This is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object. You truly are incorruptible aren't you? You won't kill me out of some misplaced sense of self-righteousness, and I won't kill you, because you're just too much fun. I think you and I are destined to do this forever.
Batman: You'll be in a padded cell forever.
The Joker: Maybe we can share one. Then we'll be doubling up the rate this city's inhabitants are losing their minds.
Bruce Wayne: I need a new suit.
Lucius Fox: Yes, three buttons is a little '90's, Mr. Wayne.
Lucius Fox: I'm not talking fashion, so much as function.
[hands him a diagram]
Lucius Fox: You want to be able to turn your head.
Bruce Wayne: Sure would make backing out of the driveway easier.
Batman: You don't want to hurt the boy, Harvey.
Two-Face: It's not about what I want, it's about what's fair!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruce Wayne: [after walking into his restaurant] Why don't we put some tables together?
Harvey Dent: I don't think they'll let us.
Bruce Wayne: They should…I own the place.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruce Wayne: [defending Gotham] I grew up here, I turned out OK.
Harvey Dent: You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Harvey Dent: The night is darkest just before the dawn. And I promise you, the dawn is coming.
Alfred Pennyworth: When I was in Burma, a long time ago, my friends and I were working for the local Government. They were trying to buy the loyalty of tribal leaders, bribing them with precious stones. But their caravans were being raided in a forest north of Rangoon by a bandit. We were asked to take care of the problem, so we started looking for the stones. But after six months, we couldn't find anyone who had traded with him. One day I found a child playing with a ruby as big as a tangerine. The bandit had been throwing the stones away.
Bruce Wayne: Then why steal them?
Alfred Pennyworth: Because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.
Gamble: [to The Joker] Give me one reason why I shouldn't have my boy here rip your head off.
The Joker: How about a magic trick?
[pulls out a pencil and sticks it upright into the table]
The Joker: I'm gonna make this pencil... disappear.
[Gamble's thug walks over to kill The Joker, who pushes his face into the pencil and kills him]
The Joker: Ta-daa! It's... gone!
Lucius Fox: Let me get this straight. You think that your employer, one of the wealthiest, most powerful men in the world, is spending his nights running around the city beating criminals to a pulp with his bare hands. And your plan is to blackmail this person? Good luck.
[Batman has just fought off Scarecrow and a group of Batman wannabes]
Batman: Don't let me find you out here again.
Brian: We're trying to help you!
Batman: I don't need help.
Dr. Jonathan Crane: Not my diagnosis!
Brian: What gives you the right? What's the difference between you and me?
[Batman lowers himself into the Batmobile]
Batman: I'm not wearing hockey pads!
Harvey Dent: [after taking a malfunctioning gun from an assassin] Carbon fiber. .28 Caliber, made in China. If you want to kill a public servant Mr. Maroni, I suggest you buy American.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maroni's Mistress: It's too loud in here, we can't hear each other talk.
Salvatore Maroni: What makes you think I want to hear you talk?
hands Two-Face a gun]
The Joker: It's a schemer who put you where you are. You were a schemer. You had plans. Look where it got you. I just did what I do best-I took your plan and turned it on itself. Look what I have done to this city with a few drums of gas and a couple bullets. Nobody panics when the expected people get killed. Nobody panics when things go according to plan, even if the plans are horrifying. If I tell the press that tomorrow a gangbanger will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will get blown up, nobody panics. But when I say one little old mayor will die, everyone loses their minds! Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I am an agent of chaos. And you know the thing about chaos, Harvey? It's fair.
[with the gun in Two-Face's hand, he places the gun to his forehead; Two-Face pauses and takes out his coin]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Joker: [holding a knife inside Gamble's mouth] Wanna know how I got these scars? My father was....a drinker. And a fiend. And one night he goes off crazier than usual. Mommy gets the kitchen knife to defend herself. He doesn't like that. Not. One. Bit. So, me watching, he takes the knife to her, laughing while he does it. Turns to me and he says "Why so serious?" Comes at me with the knife,"Why so serious?" He sticks the blade in my mouth. "Lets put a smile on that face!" And..... Why so serious?
Bruce Wayne: People are dying, Alfred. What would you have me do?
Alfred Pennyworth: Endure, Master Wayne. Take it. They'll hate you for it. But that's the point of Batman, he can be the outcast. He can make the choice that no one else can make, the right choice.
Bruce Wayne: Well today I found out what Batman can't do. He can't endure this. Today you finally get to say "I told you so."
Alfred Pennyworth: Today, sir, I don't want to.
[pauses for several moments]
Alfred Pennyworth: But I did bloody tell you.
[Gambol makes a threat; Joker opens his coat to reveal setup of grenades on a string, which he starts to tug.]
The Joker: Now, let's not *blow* things out of proportion here...You know what? You let me know when you start taking things a bit more seriously.
[takes out Joker card and sets it on the table]
The Joker: Here's my *card*.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gamble: You think you can just come in here and take our money?
The Joker: Yeah.
Lt. James Gordon: That was a very brave thing you did, Wayne.
Bruce Wayne: What, trying to catch the light?
Lt. James Gordon: You mean you weren't protecting the van?
Bruce Wayne: [completely oblivious] Why? Who's in it?
The Joker: Let's turn the clocks back. A year ago, these cops and lawyers wouldn't dare cross any of you. I mean, what happened? Did your - did your balls drop off? Hmm?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reese: They're trying to kill me!
Lt. James Gordon: Well, maybe Batman will save you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Chechen: [after bringing out a man under the influence of fear toxin] Look at what your drugs did to my customers.
Scarecrow: Buyer beware. I told you my compound would take you places. I never said they'd be places you wanted to go.
The Chechen: My business...repeat customers...
Scarecrow: If you don't like what I have to offer, you can buy from someone else. Assuming Batman left anyone to buy from.
Two-Face: You thought we could be decent men in an indecent world. But you were wrong; the world is cruel, and the only morality in a cruel world is chance.
[holds up his coin]
Two-Face: Unbiased.
[looks at Gordon]
Two-Face: Unprejudiced. Fair.
The Joker: [Batman slams The Joker’s head on a table] Never start with the head, the victim gets all fuzzy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Joker: Those mob fools want you gone so they can get back to the way things were. But I know the truth: there's no going back. You've changed things ... forever.
phew! that was loooong! well, as i said earlier (or maybe again, i forgot, sorry) the movie was great, just a lil on the long side. and here's some trivia for the movie!
As a joke, one bat suit was made with nipples, as in Batman & Robin (1997). It was presented to Christian Bale as the real bat suit, but he knew instantly it was a joke, having seen a few design pictures during preproduction. He did pose for some publicity photos in the "nipple" suit.

This is the first Batman film to not have "Batman" in the title.
On Thanksgiving weekend, 2007, fake four page tabloid size "Gotham Times" newspapers were distributed at various public events. Headlined "City at War - Batman Saves Entire Family", every article teased events in the film, and everything in the handout was geared toward the film, including the weather ("Gloomy and overcast...”) and advertisements for Gotham National Bank, the Gotham Girl Guides and recruitment for the Gotham Police Department.
o prepare for his role as the Joker, Heath Ledger lived alone in a hotel room for a month, formulating the character's psychology, posture and voice (the last one he found most difficult to do). and to think poor heath ledger is dead! his poor family, especially that lil girl, matilda ...
Director Christopher Nolan and co-writers Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer decided not to explore the origins of the Joker in order to portray the character as "absolute."
Elaborate, interactive marketing campaigns were launched in the months leading up to the release of this film. One of which was an event at the 2007 San Diego Comic-con called "Why So Serious", which involved fans following clues hidden around the city. The legions of Joker-painted fans ended up congregating in the street across from the convention center, where one of their numbers was welcomed into a black Escalade (with Gotham license plates) that had just pulled up. After a moment the fan started screaming and the SUV sped away. Later that day, a "Gotham City newspaper" was circulated reporting that a man believed to be the Joker was found beaten to death. Included were "crime scene photos" of the fan who had gotten into the Escalade, and a mention that he was found with a playing card in his hand, on which was scribbled "See you in December."

Heath Ledger's sudden death on January 22, 2008 prompted immediate speculation as to the state of this film. Late the same day, Warner Bros. released a statement declaring that Ledger had completed all his scenes and post-production work, thus making the Joker the actor's final completed appearance in a film.
While in the nurse uniform, The Joker's name badge says Matilda. This is the name of Heath Ledger's daughter.
It's Sir Michael Caine's opinion that Heath Ledger beat the odds and topped Jack Nicholson's Joker from Batman (1989): "Jack was like a clown figure, benign but wicked, maybe a killer old uncle. He could be funny and make you laugh. Heath's gone in a completely different direction to Jack, he's like a really scary psychopath. He's a lovely guy and his Joker is going to be a hell of a revelation in this picture." Caine bases this belief on a scene where the Joker pays a visit to Bruce Wayne's penthouse. He'd never met Ledger before, so when Ledger arrived and performed he gave Caine such a fright he forgot his lines.
Aaron Eckhart described his portrayal of Harvey Dent as simultaneously coming from and being apart from the same world as Batman (Dent is the white knight of Gotham, as opposed to the Dark Knight). His challenge was "looking for the similarities and the tension between the two; to find what's similar to Batman and then what's opposite to him." Eckhart prepared for his role by studying split personalities.
Bruce Wayne develops and wears a new Batsuit in the film. This Batsuit was an improvement on the outfit from Batman Begins (2005), and made Christian Bale more comfortable and agile in his performance. It was constructed from 200 unique pieces of rubber, fibreglass, metallic mesh, and nylon (producing an impression of sophisticated technology), with elastic banding added for tightening the costume to fit Bale. The gauntlets had their razors made retractable and able to be fired. The suit's cowl was based on a motorcycle helmet and separated from the neck piece, allowing Bale to move his head left/right/up/down, and comes equipped with white eye lenses for when Batman turns on Bat-sonar.
The Joker make-up was composed of three pieces of stamped silicone, which took less than an hour to apply to Heath Ledger on each day of shooting. Ledger described it as "new technology which is much quicker to apply than regular prosthetics;" he felt he was not wearing any make-up at all.
Costume designer Lindy Hemming based the Joker's look around his personality, in which "he doesn't care about himself at all." Hemming was inspired by countercultural pop culture artists like Pete Doherty, Iggy Pop, and Sid Vicious. She avoided his design being vagrant, but made it scruffier and grungier, therefore making his movements slightly twitchier and edgier.
An explosion was filmed at the Battersea Power Station in London. The fireball created calls from panic-stricken local residents, who assumed a terrorist attack was on the out-of-use Station.
Nestor Carbonell who plays the Mayor in "The Dark Knight" coincidentally also played "Bat Manuel", a parody of Batman in the comic-based live action "The Tick" (2001) TV series.

The Batman Comic Books "The Long Halloween", "The Killing Joke", "The Man Who Laughs" and the first two comics to feature the Joker character served as an influence on the film’s storyline.
David S. Goyer and Christopher Nolan collaborated on the story of the film. The script itself was written by Nolan and his brother Jonathon. After watching The Dark Knight, Goyer stated "I can't believe my name is on a movie this good".

Aaron Eckhart enjoyed wearing the Two-Face makeup and warned: "When you look at him, you should get sick to your stomach. It's like you would feel if you met someone whose face had pretty much been ripped off or burned off with acid. There are fans on the Internet who have drawn versions of what they think it looks like, and I can tell you this: They're thinking small. Chris has gone way farther than people think."
The "Batman" theme is heard only twice in the film, as Composers Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard decided that a heroic theme that a viewer could hum would ignore the complexity and darkness of the character. Hearing the tune only twice would create what Zimmer calls "a musical foreshadowing."
Composer James Newton Howard composed an elegant and beautiful score for Harvey Dent, which would serve as a jarring contrast to Two-Face's persona.
The actor that played the older gentleman that confronts the Joker at the party thrown by Bruce Wayne for Harvey Dent is Vermont senior senator Patrick Leahy. Mr. Leahy is a huge Batman fan and arranged an early showing of the movie on July 12th as a fund-raiser for the children's section of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montpelier, Vermont, the state's capital. He has also appeared in Batman & Robin (1997) and on an episode of _"Adventures of Batman & Robin, The" (1992)_ .

Had the biggest three-day opening weekend of all time with $158 million beating Spider-Man 3 (2007).

Set a weekend box-office record for IMAX venues with $6.2 mil. Former record holder was Spider-Man 3 (2007).
Holds the record for reaching the $200 million mark the fastest, after only 5 days.

The film was delivered to some theaters under the name "Oliver's Army".

While filming both the bank and Police Department scenes at the Post Office, an unrelated fire broke out in a top floor mechanical room and many onlookers believed that the smoke and fire was related to the filming.
Made more money than Batman Begins (2005) entire domestic run in only 6 days of release.
SPOILER: Heath Ledger improvised when he started clapping inside his jail cell in a mocking and sardonic capacity as Gordon is promoted. The clapping was not scripted but Christopher Nolan immediately encouraged the crew to continue filming and the sequence was included in the film.
phew! what a lot!
so, when it was over, uncle stephen wheeled me out and handed me over to kerry, who drove me home in soe vintage 1970's car! lol.. oh, correction:mum says it was '85. went inside, mum made me a yummy toasted cheese sandwhich and we all had warm drinks (ovaltine for us, tea for kerry) kery then gave me a shower, before we watched the news. mum then made me ride bike, i did 600 odd rotations. oh well. crap.
when kerry left, aunty a popped up and we all had yummy steamboat for dinner! i enjoyed a 'bob' :P and much thanks to dad who bought us some yummy scallops! we chatted, then i popped online soon after. this is easily the longest blog post i've ever done, haha. some more things i want to do, like send emails to vince and julz and watch naruto but that can wait til toms, coz mum and i are both sleepy.
so, have a great week, peoples!
cheers,
em. ^^

saturday post

well, today i plodded 2210 steps. *hums* just keep plodding, just keep plodding ... hehe !^^
so, today half my prayers were answered when uncle wallace the OT didn't turn up. so i slept happily till mum got home; she got me up then made me walk out to the dining hall, where brunch was last night's leftovers. yummy pork mince with onions and tomato sauce. none for mum though, coz even 4 star is too ... umm, i don't know the word in english - for her. she needs 5 star, but aunty anne only bought us 4. i mean, i can taste the difference, but i can still eat it.
but remember to pray for aunty anne's whole family, and for uncle wallace too, coz they've all got the flu/cold! :s oh dear ... makes me glad i had the flu shot, at least.
anyways, so i had a happy sleep till mum came home. i used the pot, then mum made me walk out to the dining hall, where brunch was leftover rice with that yummy mince i told you about earlier. then i went to wait for vincent the physio, meaning today's first and only session:PT he came, told me he'd parted ways with kyoko (fair enough, i'd called him a MONSTER in front of him to her! but in japanese, of course ;)so, some arm, head and leg work, before we went for a lomg walk. that done, he left and i popped online. kerry came soon after, and she gave me a nice hot shower, hair washed today. coming out, we both enjoyed a hot cuppa with a teaspoon of honey each, and i also gobbled my ham and egg bun. dad popped in to get sth, he's gone again.
ok, piano practice time for me! hope to see you all at church toms!
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. how cool is this - uncle slam's taking me to see batman toms!
p.p.s. almost forgot - UF last night! a bible study on one of the fruity tooties of the spirit. basically, the silly israelites were having a whinge after god saved them out of egypt. so we read the bible, answered some questions. april, vince and charles helped me walk in and out of the garage as required. all done, even better - we snacked out on lollies coz we'd won the scattergories game we played last week! parents made me walk in and out of church, and to and from car also. and to and out of bathroom into bedroom too. but i was so hungry mum kindly gave me a sausage bun when i got home and she made me walk in. righteo - tootles!
p.p.p.s. well, 6:30 now. kerry's just helped me to the loo, and we've finished the news. cya toms!
byebye!~~~~~
p.p.p.s. so that means 5 steps walked already. and i think i hear mum up! good morning, sleepybum!

friday post

so, check. today i walked 1801 steps. yay, one grand passed again! i hope it'll be a good report for the physios.
well, i got up fairly late today, mum made me walk to the dining room, where breakfast was a yummy sausage bun with a cup of milo. honestly, i need to find the word that means 'a phobia of teaspoons'. then mum made me walk out to the car, and off to the doctors we tootled. so while i was enjoying a bum massage, mum asked the pharmicist to get her a script for my eye goo. forgot to add- mum made me walk into the doctor's clinic and out of it too. i mean, i've TOLD her the botox is finally wearing off and my left leg shakes crazily whenever she makes me walk, but i guess she simply doesn't care. oh well. my life sucks. get used to it. haha... hey, i wonder if anyone will put that into a shirt for me?
so, back home, mum made me walk back inside, where she had a microwaved beef lasagne for lunch, while i had some chicken fettucine thing in red sauce. i prefer white, really, but red wasn't bad. that done, mum made me do standing exercises. i mean usually i only have to stand for a count of 21 or 50, but i think a count of 162 is really a bit over the top, don't you? that done, i was finally allowed online. my left hand is holding lily the sheep, while lillian the other sheep is just standing next to dotdot.some sad news though, mum washed dul dul for me, and when she put him out to dry some idiot magpies pecked/poked big holes into him! bad birdies ><
oh! and thanks to mum who reminded me to write what jayne taught me at physio yesterday - "no walking like kung fu panda."hehe!
right, lonely will get here in another minute or so. she'll take me to the physio too, thanks. hope to see you all at UF tonight!
cheers,
em. ^!^!

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

argh, where is my post?! oh well, 2nd time lucky. so, got up bright and early this morning - so, fair enough, not bright; the weather's all overcast and drizzly today.
first thing:mum made me walk to the kitchen, where breakfast was some jam and marg on toast with a cup of milo. can't remember if mum used a tea or a table spoon; honestly, i sometimes think she deliberately gets a tablespoon because i've please asked her for 2 teaspoons. oh well.
next, mum made me walk to the car then we headed off to the day hospital. a quick trip to the loo first, then off to OT we went. but argh, stupid OT won't make up my missed session; i mean she's already cancelled 25% of them, and that's simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH. i have no idea who to complain to though.
so, just lotsa left hand exercises and theraputty squishing. I WAS CERTAINTLY VERY HAPPY TO SEE HABIB, WHO GAVE ME A CUP OF TEA WITH 2 EQUAL AND A BIKKIE. THEN, HE PROVED TO BE A DARLING AND EVEN ASKED mum IF SHE'D LIKE ONE TOO! argh, sorry, shrieking. >< so mum got 2 bikkies too and had hers white and 1. funnily enough though, either one of them must've swapped them around coz i drank mine, and went to mum, "ugh, no taste." mum in turn took a sip of mine and went, "ick, too sweet!" so we swapped back and finished our cuppas. katherine found me a green sponge with a long stick to help me when showering; mum paid $10.50 for it. actually, mum gave katherine a 20 buck note, to which katherine dug up some change to.
anyway, OT over, we went back to the day hospital. i saw jock/fabio, who told me to be good else he'd come smack my bum! i just laughed, and told him if he did, i'd get dad to kick his sorry behind all the way to pluto! haha~ we also saw habib on the way back, and i asked him if he was going to give me another morning cuppa. he just laughed and said i could go get one myself. i do hope i see him toms at the physio!
so (by the way, back now - must've been the hot milo i had. at least i can take it without sugar!
so mum and i read magazines for awhile, before it was time to go to physio. mum actually made me walk in. there, jayne had me walking up and down the parallel bars, that and some standing. no bed work today, i guess that will come at night when i'm in bed.
physio all finished, jayne gave me a cane and helped me walk out to the entrance. we rang dad, then went home. mum made me walk inside to the loo, then made me walk out to the dining hall, where she made us very nice kebabs for lunch. just not enough mayo, too bad. after lunch, mum made me walk to the computer, where i'm just blogging now. claire is here - she's leaving, actually!i met 2 other women there, one's called leanne, actually. the other's called georgina. lonely just came in too - just playing with her mobile. i think she's got a sony ericsson like me!
oh, ... um, i forgot. >< sorry. all the ladies bar lonely, mum and i have just gone. but georgins promised she'd sit on claire for me! her hubby's just finished his 2nd year of med, actually. he wants to be a heart doctor!
cheers,
em. !^^
p.s. today was 2307 steps. woohoo - 1 and 2 grand both passed! okay, naruto time for me! byebye~
p.p.s. yay, that neighbour yobbo of ours is leaving! i hope he goes to the bermuda triangle and dissapeers forever. bye!

wednesday post

yo! long time no see! anyways, today was 770 with aunty yvonne and 1438 with mum, which makes a grand total of ... 2208. score! both one grand AND two grand busted!
well i do apologise for not blogging since sunday; see, stupid me whacked mum once with my cane, so mum ruled out the net on monday, then i think she took offence with the way i walked, so poof! there goes tuesday. luckily, i'm back on today. anyways, i had a sausage bun and some milo for breakfast today - thanks mum! and before i forget, yesterday i walked ... poop, i already forgot >< well, yesterday i had physio with linelle and walked up and down the parallel bars, so add that to all the walking mum made me do, i'd say 1950 would be pretty good. and as for monday, just 790. anyways, after breakfast, mum grabbed me for some exercises, and we watched some news, before lunch was some very welcome sushi aunty anne brought for us. a tuna and chicken one each; mum's already eaten both of hers, whereas i still have my tuna one left. just a short wait till lonely got here, she gave me a nice hot shower and popped me back online. she also put my splint back on for me, thanks.
anyways, toms is ot at 9 and pt at 11. i'll be sure to nag ot about already making me miss 2 sessions, be damned if it's therir policy of no make up sessions. i mean, she's already cancelled 1/4 of my sessions - and that's just not good enough. oh well ... mostly, i just wish pole will find me for lunch toms! everything's crossed!
cheers,
em. ^^

sunday post

well, first of all, spam count for this week is 79. and steps walked is 1302. not bad, huh? coz i passed 1000 again!
anyways, got up this morning. thanks to dad who only made me walk till out of the bedroom where sparky was waiting. so, breakkie was jam on toast plus a cup of milo - with a tablespoon, not 2 teaspoons. see, mum, i PROMISE you the teaspoons don't bite :P anyways, parents then made me walk to the car, where we trundled off to church, no music to listen to this time. the speaker today was a guy called shane or shaun mccarthy, and he talked about computer viruses.sermon done, mum wheeled me to the loo, but go me! when i was in there, they started singing happy bday to fi, and i got mum to open the door for me so i could do my usual job - yell the "HIP HIP!!!"good thing? they heard. janice and pole told me they were wondering who would do that job for them - and then they heard! so i was pleased. we hung around talking for awhile, then mum made me walk out of church. the good guy to look at today was josh, although he deserves to bge hit again coz he offered to put pole over his shoulder to look at while i walked. but maybe we'll grant him a reprieve, coz in the end, he didn't go as a bei si to becki's bday party; he went as bob the builder. but stupid me >< somehow i totally forgot to go!!!!! oh, stupid me >< but maybe josh SHOULD be hit coz ... hmm, i forgot why, sorry. >< just hit him anyway :P anyways, we asked aunty a and uncle eddy, who both told me it was fine for me to go to bible study. i gotta say, i missed it! i haven't been for more than a year!but a big thanks to charlsy who let me plop on the couch next to him, and held my left hand nice and open. near the end, i whispered to charlsy that i really needed to pee. luckily, aunty a finished at that exact moment, so she and fi helped me walk to the loo and back. on the couch i had a happy time hugging hannah's fat totoro and the fat pig that unzipped to reveal 4 or 5 baby piglets. cute!
i admit, i was a bit scared to read in genesis of those sons who weren't good. so what happened? god killed them. man, it makes me think, "hell, i had better be good, or else god will murder and do me in too! ><"
so, bible studyover, parents got me, and after extending a dinner invite to aunty a - who accepted - off we went to foodcourt. music this time! once there, it turns out all the disabled parking was taken, so parents made me walk up the steep hill >so, back home, parents made me walk inside, where i went to the loo, then hit the bed for a short nap before kerry arrived. i went to the pot once more, before kerry got me up for a nice hot shower. back out, i went to the loo once before she put my shoes, socks and splint back on. arvo tea was half a chocolate har siou bing, and half a custard one. mum and kerry took a half each also. i washed mine down with a glass of milk, then ding dong! aunty winnie, uncle colbert and sam arrived. sam was cool and started playing 'sam the builder' - ha, take that, bob! aunty winnie did some hand exercises with me, while uncle colbert had me wandering up and down the hallway with my stick. as a reward, aunty winnie was awesome and gave me a packet of chicken and corn dumplings! *drools at the very thought* so i must ask dad to fry me a couple tonight, when he comes back from baddy. dunno if he or aunty a will get here first.
so, off to send an email to pole now, then watch naruto, everyone! hope you all have a great week!
cheers,
em. ^!^

saturday post

well, add the 610 i did yesterdayeening plus the 387 i did with vincent the phyio, and thaT makes 997. lol, i'm only 3 steps shy of 1000!
anyways, mum went to work this morning, and dad got me up to wait for uncle wallace, luckily, dad only made me walk out of my room where sparky was waiting and i got the yummy breakfast of a sausage bun. sadly, no milo left, but i hope dad will get some in the arvo or we'll get some at foodcourt after church toms.
anyways, first session: OT, meaning none of my prayers were answered. oh well, expected. uncle wallace taught me the meaning of hypersxtension, and we went theraband tugging and arm lifting.
when he left, mum came home and we had congee for lunch. personally, i enjoyed all the yummy pork floss on mine! well, i admit i took a tiny bit of mum and dad's pork floss too, fair enough. i mean, mum makes me ride bike 500+ rounds. actually, i believe i did 640 yesterday before she let me off. i mean, i don't see her doing 1000 to make up for all the bike pedalling she didn't do. what can i say? my life sucks. get the HELL used to it!
anyways, second session: PT. funnily enough, vincent the physio didn't come with kyoko, and i forgot to ask him why. so, he did some foot wrenching (lol, what is he, a wannabe chiropractor?^^), WE TRIED A FEW STANDS, THEN HE GOT ME TO PUT MY SOCK BACK ON (sorry, shrieking><) before going for a walk. actually, he said i could kick him, but i said i wasn't interested. maybe next time, then.
that done, i wheeled myself back to the computer and kerry arrived. how cool, i get an egg and ham bun for arvo tea! and hehe, the phone keeps ringing. twice the home phone, and once dad's mobile. it's uncle colbert looking for dad, but dad's gone out shopping and to go swimming. but he'll go to uncle yuk tai's too, so that's where mum's directed him. hope he finds!
well, time for some reading for me now. hope to see most of yous at church toms, and fingers crossed for some good lunch!
cheers,
em. !^^
P.S. FORGOT TO ADD, YESTERDAY I WAS VERY HAPPY TO GO TO (sorry, shriekin again!><")thpiot(sorry, make that pot roast)held by uf.yummy! lots of yummy meat, even though letty made me eat my tomatoes she still ate my cumcumbers for me. even btter, josh gave me some of his tofu flower. yummy!we then played scatogories,my favourite was when letty or hannh put as 'sth that bounces' beginning with the letter 'a' as april and sth you buy starting with k was 'kit kat in bulk. haha!!!!!!! ok, me going naruto/reading now. byebye!

friday post

well, 912 steps today and yesterday was 1485. not bad! well i got up nice and late today, and had the most boring breakfast in the world, along with a cup of milo. yup, but mum's phobia of teaspoons has returned, she gave me milo with a tablespoon.
so, mum made me walk to the dining room, then made me walk to the car. doctor's appointment - time to sit in the noisy chair and get aq bum massage again. i listened to my ipod, and when that was over, we left for 'siu toi buck', that ... taiwanese? restaurant. yummy! a lunch date with smelly! i chose all my favourites - 'lion head rice' (basically, big round yummy meatballs), shanghai fried noodles, and crispy shallot pancakes. yummy! mum shouted smelly to lunch, and when we finished, she dropped smelly off at plaza to meet her dad.
back home for us, mum made me walk in before making me play half an hour of piano, both hands, before i finally got to go on the net. i chatted to josh, janice and katie, before lonely came and gave me a nice hot shower - hair wash today. i'm quickly typing out my blog, coz i have to go to vincent's for a massage. but mum is letting me go to uni fellowship tonight! coz we're having a pot roast, or sth ... starts at 6:30.
well, i'm glad i've typed fast enough to frinish this post. if i still have enough time, i'll go turn my weekly report to the physios. see you toms!
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. me VERY relieved lonely's husband didn't come and beat me up coz i beat his wife in the boxing yesterday! haha!

wednesday post

well, 880 plus 660 steps walked today equals ... 1540! yay, 1000 mark busted again, and one day i'll do it without using a calculator! :P
well, got up this morning. mum made me walk out to the dining table, where she kindly made me the most boring breakfast ever, with a cup of milo, and go mum! she remembered to use a teaspoon!
aunty yvonne came soon after, so we walked up and down the hallway, me with my stick. i also got on the mattress for awhile. mum put some asain singer on, not bad. lol, but coz he sings in mandarin, i just remember one line of lyric: "iam who i am ..."
aunty yvonne stayed for lunch, where mum was awesome and made us all kebabs. yummy! too bad they were beef ones though ... oh well. fingers crossed for a chicken one next time!
when she left, mum made me walk to practise piano for half an hour, then she made me walk to the loo and back ... whoops, 3:17 and showertime, bye!
well, 3:57 now. i've been showered, hair washed, and been to the bathroom. lonely's just cleaning the bathroom for me now, thanks.
where were we? oh, aunty anne came with some yummy food for us. mum made me stand still for 30 secs, all my weight on the LEFT side ONLY. funnily enough, so why did i count 5mins 40 secs before she allowed me to sit down and pop online? dunno, beats me.
so, when lonely came, i said bye to mum (who promised to keep an eye out for a sausage bun for me - better luck to her this time! coz yesterday was unsuccessful ...) and then lonely gave me a shower, hair washed today. there'll be more exercises presently, but i might take the opportunity to read a bit first ... ok, see yous toms!
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. i think the stupid OT has cancelled my appointment toms again. i mean, i only get 8 weeks, and she's already skipped out on 2. so that's 1/4 of my sessions gone. so THIS time, she had BETTER make it up to me. rarrr. bye!
p.p.s. I is back from 30mins of hand exercises with lonely and an afternoon tea of an apple and some strawberries. yummy! i just made sure lonely got a slice of apple and 2 strawberries too. ok, reading time for me, before mum comes home and makes me ride the bike. i haveta admit, it is damned unfair - at first, i only had to do 300 rotations. then dad put it up to 350. now suddenly, mum's upped it to 500! *sigh* what can i say? my life sucks. get the HELL used to it. okies, byebye!

tuesday post

well, today's count was 785 steps. i got up fairly late today, seeing as there was no physio today. mum made me walk out to the dining room, where breakfast was a slice of toast with some marg and jam. i think celebrations are in order though, coz mum actually gave me 2 teaspoons with it, not a tablespoon! woohoo!oh, and by 'it' i mean the milo i had.
so then, mum grabbed me for almost a good hour of standing and arm exercises, while listening to one or two asain CD's. when that was all done with, mum baked us the lightly battered fish. yummy!i smashed heaps of mayo on mine then bashed it all up. mum only had one coz she was in a funk over losing my arm splint. then mum made me walk over and made me practise a good 35 mins of piano, while dad tried ringin heaps of times with not really any luck cos the entire telstra network had collasped.
kerry came in the arvo and gave me a nice hot shower. but no hair wash this time. when we got out, i went to the bathroom. then, as kerry was helping me putting my shoes and socks back on, the doorbell rang! turns out it was jessie, and her mum, joanne, found out i was sick from poon 'san' and poon 'tai'. jessie's in grade 5 now, and she doesn't like tartare sauce. too bad for her, cos thanks to aunty joanne who brought us some very yummy crumbed fish and chips! so i shared it with jessie, while thanks to aunty joanne who did the dishes for us. so after we polished it all off, she gave me a glass of milk before we said our farewells.
back inside, kerry was looking up that singer she's going to a concert to. maek lisotte, or rissoto, or sth like that. so then she grabbed me for hand exercises b4 she allowed me on the net and mum came home. sadly, she couldn't get me a sausage bun, but she did get me a jar of strawberry jam. yay!
well, dunno if aunty yvonne will come toms. like i've said, no biggie. well, gonna go read now. hope you guys are enjoying your week!
cheers,
em. !^^

monday post

and we say hello to the new week! only 775 steps today, 25 short of aunty a's required 800, but i reckon toms will be better!
so, mum made me walk out to the dining table, telling me aunty anne had visited earlier. i got a sausage bun for breakfast, and a microwaved chicken coq au vin (hmm... i THINK i spelt it right this time! for lunch. i feel spoilt - i also had them with a yummy cup of milo! go aunty wendy who knows how to use a teaspoon, unlike me mummy. :P
so we watched the news, then aunty wendy grabbed me for a good 45-55 mins of arm and leg exercises. she also helped me to the loo. when mum came home, it was time to go to the doctor's. so, one comfy bum massage later, we said bye to the nurses and dr. mor before going home.
kerry arrived soon after us - her last name is morcan! she's only got one son, whom she had when she was very young. the son works at a gym, selling memberships to peoples.
so i had my arvo tea of the other half of sausage bun, and a glass of milk. then kerry gave me a nice hot shower, i had a pee, she put my shoes, splint and socks back on, and now i'm blogging. just for an hour though, coz mum says then it's exercise time. oh, i almost forgot - a couple of night ago, i did 8 mins of leg exercises, 7 of left arm ones, and just 2mins of head.
oh, i'm off for some reading now. see yous toms!
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. from joshels MSN name - ssdd stands for 'same stuff, different day'. laters!

sunday post

bleargh!!!!! where is my post? i started on it, the phone rang, mum got it, then ... i looked back and went ... "nani?????!!!!" oh well, here i go again. sorry, not too many steps today, just 710.
so, mum got me up this morning, and after some bread, marg, jam and a cup of milo, off we trundled to church. speaker today was scott downman, and he brought his wife and daughter along, all wearing hmong (pronounced 'mong') gear. he talked about what they do there, and shared the testimonies of a few people. oh, and before i forget ... spam count for the weekend is 55.
scott also told us a funny story, how his house was infested by bedbugs, or some other form of little pests. the thailand way of getting rid of the bugs?"burn the house down".O_o luckily for scott and his family, they used another solution to get rid of the unwanted visitors - red ants. yup, these little guys would crawl in, grab a struggling little pest, then march'em out. sayonara, buggies!
so, when sermon was done, janice and mum helped me to the loo, then mum made me walk out of church. i didn't see smelly there today, i guess it's her turn as bible reader. remember, they've only got two, after all. :P actually, leanne's told me it was 3 a week, so hmm ... dunno what happened there!:P so off we then trundled to foodcourt, bread for us first. for lunch, i asked for a 2 piece feed. amazingly enough, i almost got both pieces of chicken - parents peeled the skin off first, no biggie - a few chips and some nice potato and gravy. yummy! one day my aim will be to eat an entire one for my own. i just have to lose enough kilos. not sure how much mum requires, but hey, i admit, i'm looking forward to that day!
i also had a chocolate harsiubing, and dad munched his favourite red bean one. mum wanted a peanut one, but after hearing the girl manning the counter tell her there'd be a 5-10min wait, i think she went for a taro one instead.
so, parents made me walk in to the loo and back out before i bedded down for an afternoon snooze. kerry came at 3, i think, to wake me up. i begged for - and got - another ten mins of snooze time before she gave me a nice hot shower.
afternoon tea was strawberries. i gave her one too, so we could share the yummy, juicy things together. actually, i'm waiting for mum when she gets up, coz i want my egg and ham bun with a cup of milk! dad's gone to baddy, and i've asked him to please say hi to b1 for me. too bad, aunty a can't come for dinner tonight, she's got sth on. oh well.
have a great week everyone! if you've a free afternoon, why not find me for lunch? i'm always eager for some company!
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. my favourite westlife song on their new album is the second song, which is 3mins 58 secs long. "coz it's us against the world
you and me against them all
if you listen to these words, know that we are standing tall.
i don't ever see the day when i won't catch you when you fall,
coz it's us against the world, tonight..."
mum's fav is no. 5 or 6:" have you ever loved somebody so much it makes you cry?
have you ever needed something so bad you can't sleep at night..." for both mum and i, the answer to both questions is yes.
but for dad ... "i prefer the beatles or the beegees." hehe
p.p.s. byebye! have i already said, i hope you have a good week?

saturday post

well, today i walked 590 steps +250 with vincent the physio and kyoko, so that makes ... 840? i didn't use the calculator this time, so apologies if it's incorrect!
so, this morning none of my prayers were answered. first session:OT. just lotsa tugging on the theraband today. when that was over, dad and uncle wallace enjoyed a bowl of sweet potato soup, while i finally got to tuck into my breakkie of a yummy sausage bun and a cup of milo at the rather late time of 12:05 *sheepish grin*
so he left and mum came home. lunch was last night's leftovers, which for me meant some rice, a few pieces of cauliflower and one little piece of chicken, plus a cup of milk.
vincent the physio and kyoko came soon after, so second session:PT. just various standing and leg exercises before we went for a walk. vincent the physio actually tried putting me down on the floor to see if i could pull myselfd up again. i asked him for permission to shriek for help; of course he refused. so, after me flopping uselessly on the carpet for awhile in contorted positions, he decided it was too hard and got me back up. back in sparkless now, just waiting for kerry to get here. both vincent and kyoko declined dad's offer of a drink, but thanks to kyoko who was cool and wrote 'physio' for me in japanese! she lives in osaka, and will be there till next march. anyways, physio in japanese is:'rigakuryouhoushi' quite a mouthful!
well, off to read now. kerry should be here soon. hope she makes me some arvo tea! even if i only do get an apple ... still better than nothing.
hope to see most of yous at church toms, and fingers crossed for some decent lunch!
cheers,
em. ^!!^

saturday post

well, i slept nice and late this morning, till dad dug me up to wait for uncle wallace to get here. meaning first session:OT. good thing he said was that my hands have loosened up a bit. so, therapy included tugging the theraband down a good 50-odd times, then swinging it sideways 30= times. that finished, he and dad enjoyed a hot bowl of sweet potato each, while i finally had my breakfast of a yummy sausage bun plus a cup of milo. that was at 12:05, actually. so he left, then mum came home. noodles for lunch, plus a few chunks of yummy cauliflower and one wee piece of chicken. oh, and a cup of milk.
so, just waiting for vincent the physio to get here.i'm talking to charlsy and dr. mak, and i've already walked 529 steps for today so far. i'll come back and finish this post when vincent the physio leaves.
ANYWAYS, I HOPE I CAN MAKE TO CHURCH TOMS - FINGERS CROSSED! WILL TRY TO SEE MOST OF YOU THERE TOMS!
CHEERS,
EM. !^!^ (ergh, sorry, shrieking)
p.s. i think kerry's coming this arvo. i wonder if i can persuade her for a cup of tea or hot milo?fingers crossed again!
p.p.s. back from physio now. walked an extra steps, 250 bringing the total to 779 steps. cyas!
p.p.s. uncle calvin and aunty catherine came visiting. thanks to aunty catherine who made me some very nice 'fu kook tong sui'! she also said she's never seen me walk before, so i got up and did 290 for her, going to the loo in the process, they left and i watched 7's news and funniest home videos while dad played with my left hand.he used an icepack, too.
well, dad's called me for dinner now. i wonder where mum is - she's sure having a long visit to dr. lin. and hahaq, her first name is chin!

friday post 2

well, just adding on what happened this arvo: at the physio, vincent helped me to walk in before i received one nice comfy massage. actually, i note that we didn't go in until 5:20 but we came back out at 6:00pm sharp.
lonely shouted me to an incredibly yummy honey soy chicken chip as we drove home. mum made me walk back inside and to the loo, before thanks to lonely who made me a very nice cup of hot milo. mmm... she herself had a cup of tea, and takes it like i do - white and 2. mum then made me walk to the bike, where i pedalled quite a few hunfred rounds before i was allowed off and thankfully into my chair. the phone rang, so mum went to answer while i signed lonely's chart. she only does wed, thurs and fri. i wonder if kerry does all the others?
so, dad came home, we had dinner - some rice, carots, tofu and mum's scrumptious mince with tomato. onion, and tomato sauce. go me who could taste the pepper in it!
then, after a cup of pear juice i came cack to finish my blog. mum's dire threat - if i don't use my pointer to type, she'll turn the computer off! so i'm trying hard now.
right, time to email my physios with my weekly report. laters!
cheers,
em. !^^
p.s. almost forgot - that was an extra 580 steps i walked after my first post. i'll start toms when mum makes me walk to the bathroom and back to my room. bye.

friday post

right ... spam count for this week ... 146. and steps walked? 1036. woohoo, one grand mark passed again!
well, got up late this morning. breakfast was marg and jam on toast with a cup of milo. funnily, mum refuses to give me 2 teaspoons with it. i wonder if she has a phobia of teaspoons or sth ... i dunno. she'll only ever use a tablespoon to gimme a bit ...
so mum made me walk out to the dining table and again to the car, before we went to the doctor's.
whoops, a good hour later now. coz i had to go to the loo, so mum walked me in. then, when i was sitting on it, ding dong! who should come but uncle chong and aunty sui ping? (sorry, coz i thought her name was 'sui pei' in canto) we had a short chat - and how cool! uncle chong says that their daughter, sarah, remembers me! but she's in her mid-late twenties by now. so as they left, ding dong! lonely arrived! she gave me a nice hot shower first (hair washed today)before she put my shoes and socks back on, and gave me yummy arvo tea - yummy strawberries! and thanks to mum who cut the heads off for me so i could gulp them. !^!^ but i saved the biggest one for lonely, so she could enjoy them too. :)
then i popped onto the net, and am talking to lams and joshels now. i've got a physio appointment at 5, so one comfy massage for me, yay!
oh, and one last thanks to ... poop, i forgot. oh well. i'll write it back toms if i remember. ok, off to read now. ok, byebye!
cheers,
em. ^^
p.s. a big congrats to nicole kidman and keith urban for their new daughter, sunday rose! funnily enough, this tot was actually born on monday, not sunday, but the best thing was my carer kerry, who said the name was closer to 'sunday roast'! haha ... poor kid ...

thursday post

well, i think i will have a good report to turn into the physios this week - 640 from last night, plus 800 from today ... 1440! yay! 1000 mark busted!
so, got up nice and early this morning. toast, marg, jam and milo for breakfast, then off to the hospital we trundled.
oh! i almost forgot! remember how yesterday i was going to see 'kungfu panda' with lonely? we got there ... "the carpark's dark" she commented. so we went inside ... only to bge barred by a woman in uniform. "sorry, plaza's closed." says she, "blackout." we rung mum then had no choice but to go home. but the story i told mum and dad? "we started watching the movie," says i, "but lonely got scared of the panda, so we had to leave." hehe! at least she thought it was funny!
so, 9am was OT. thanks to katherine who not only got my splint already, but she talked to uncle wallace too! first by email, then phone. but i think stupid woman has cancelled next week's appointment again ... sheesh! at least thanks to kat who tidied up my splint for me.
still no morning tea for me, but like i said ... expected. katherine then did some timetabe up for me ... oh well. my life is regimented. what can i say? oh well.
OT finished, we went back to the day hospital. mum listened to my ipoddy and i read another "that's life" magazine.
11am and mum took me to the day hospital to find jayne. she then left, so jayne had me walking up and down the bars quite a few times, before doing beanbag work. when mum came and got me, we said bye, but i requested we go into BIRU to find orli and thank him for his mandarin he gave me on tues. turns out james has gone now too, actually. we couldn't find him, but just as we left - there he was! so i was happy i got the chance to thank him. actually, when he gave me the mandarin on tuesday, mum heard another patient remark to him, "you must love her a lot." aww, what can i say? i feel wuved!
SO WE WENT HOME. MUM MADE ME WALK INSIDE BEFORE MICROWAVING MY FAVOURITE (sorry, shrieking. >< i really seem to be unable of going through an entire post without doing it, eh? argh... oh well) lunch - fettucine in a creamy cabonara sauce with chicken, carrots, and a few pieces of green things (veges, i presume?) she herself had last night's leftovers. then she made me play piano for 1/2 an hour, both hands. oh well. i'm blogging now, will go watch naruto next. enjoy what's left of your week!
cheers,
em. !^^
p.s. trying for kung fu panda again this arvo. fingers crossed!
p.p.s. i think smelly's said she'll be free for lunch with me NEXT friday. fingers crossed!

wednesday post

well, i'm glad to announce that i passed the 1000 mark today ... 1150, to be precise. :)
so, i had a happy sleep-in today; at least i did manage to wake up when dad came to kiss me goodbye.
when i did get up late in the morning, it was so that mum could walk me to the loo and then to the dining hall. yummy toasted sandwhiches for breakfast - chicken for me, a rather icky - if you ask me- baked beans for her. i mean, i thought baked beans make you fart!
that over, she grabbed me for a good 50mins of exercise, then made me walk to brush my teeth. my poor right hand, i just make sure it always gets a final long rinse itself coz mum makes leftie hold the cup for the usual 3 rinses. then we walked back out again (hence me passing 1000) where lunch was a microwaveable pasta, chicken and white sauce, with some choy sum and carrots. i shared some of that with mum, who in return gave me a yummy piece of broccoli.
so, online now, will go for some reading soon. lonely comes after 3pm, and we're going to see kung fu panda! mostly, i can't wait to see master 'wu gway'. it's only an hr and a half long, but still good, hey, i hope. i just hope the music soundtrack is worth it! mum sadly won't give me any cash to get some arvo tea, too bad. oh well. also, if lonely gets here early and i get dragged off the net, mum promises to make up any time i missed out on back to me. thanks, mum.
right, just chatting to dr. mak now, and mum is ringing aunty a to come for hot pot tonight. but she's on call tonight ... hope she won't get called!
time to go reading!
bye-bye!
p.s. please, please, PLEASE let pole or smelly ring me toms for lunch! or even a cup of morning tea is preferable! oh well, but like i said, hopes aren't up. that way, there's no getting dissapointed. laters!

tuesday post

well, i got up fashionably late today, and ohh ... steps today: 1601 from last night and this morning and 602 for physio and mum making me walk back inside the house for lunch ... 2203! cool, i not only paseed the 1000 mark, but also the 2000 one! must nag vince for more postcards :P
breakfast was toast with margarine and a lil jam, before off to day hospital we went. a trip to the loo first, then off to physio we go. no BIRU today ... so, with linelle we walked up and down the parallel bars, before she gave me a cane and helped me to the bed where i went bumlifting away.
that done, mum came and picked me up; we wen6t back to BIRU to say hi to james and allina, i also said hi to helen, robyn and orli. and a big thanks to orli - when we were leaving, he called me back and sneaked me a mandarin!
so back home, mum made me walk in before she was awesome and made us kebabs, even if it was with icky tomatoes and not enough mayo. but the mayo, pineapple and chicken all tasted oh so good!
just some warm water with the meal, then she made me practise piano for half an hour, both hands.
then the doorbell rang, it was an OT or someone from home mods called nadine.
she and mum had a chat while i popped on the net.
well, i think aunty yvonne is coming toms ... no biggie. not sure who's coming this arvo though, but mum promises they won't eat me. :)
see you guys tomorrow. byebye!
CHEERS,
EM. !^^!
p.s. did i tell you guys? friday night dad was out having a coffee with his mates, i was in bed, sleeping. i decided i wanted to sleep on my side, so i rolled... >< too much. with a plop! i fell off the bed onto my bum, banging my poor right arm in the process. i SHRIEKED for mum, who, luckily, hadn't started her shower yet and came back down. to be honest, she found it pretty funny her only daughter was crumpled in a heap on the floor, but very graciously gave me a hand up. from that day on, i very consciously either lie on my back or my side facing the wall. i'm not risking falling to my death again!
well, kerry's here, and i'm allowed on till 4pm, so just under an hour's reading time for me. just need to go send a couple of emails first.
p.p.s. poop ... i forgot. oh! funny thing is, of all my contacts, matt's the only person online out of my entire MSN list. lol. ciao!
p.p.p.s. i think aunty yvonne's coming toms. no biggie.

monday post

well, last night was 880 steps, plus this morning's 287 ... umm ... (excuse me while i cheat and use the internet calculator ^!^") 1167! haha, i passed 1000 again!
well, got up happily late this morning; mum made me walk out to the kitchen, where i watched 7's morning news - eep, the g-string man (aka rafael nadal) beat federer in the wimbeldon final. oh well, i dislike both of them, i guess.
then mum was really cool and made me porridge for breakfast - she even added a lil teaspoon of honey! yummy - thanks mum!
then over to the piano where i practised for awhile while the washing machine was plugging away ... then i got to pop online, reply an email to vince (nag him about a postcard :P), write blog (which i'm doing now) and chat to janice, who says she'll come visit me after my doctor's appointment at 3:30 to sit on that noisy chair. bum massage! even better, she says she might even bring morning tea! i'm excited ... hehe
well, off to read now. fingers crossed for a morning cuppa toms - even though 11am is a bit late - even more, for lunch toms! ah well, slim chance, but hope's hope. seeyas!
cheers,
em. !^!^

sunday post

well, spam count for the weekend - 50. and steps - 1500. i'm just happy i passed 1000 again!
well, got up this morning, usual breakfast. problem came when it was time to go to church - i guess parents took offence at the way i walked. i mean, i don't know ... i already drop all my weight to the left already. what more do they want?
so back inside, my parents grabbed me for what literally was AGES more exercises - until smelly came visiting! she told me their holiday wasn't that successful coz it didn't snow at ALL ><" but other than that, it was good fun ... except the silly girl threw out her back. ouchies >< she also brought me a little souvenir - a penguin? (well, some black and white animal) that has a heart on it. and when you squeeze it? the heart comes out and a red light flashes. i think it's called 'heartbreakers' or sth.
anyways, she stayed for morning tea - dad made us all yummy french toast. she also had a cup of hot milo, while i just stayed with the cold milo.
when she left, who should come along but uncle and aunty slam? they tucked in on the french toast also, before we slugged it out on the wii. i'm proud to admit i first got him in the tennis, then happily bashed him up in the boxing. i got anna too! funnily enough, her mii's name is 'ah na'. guess that's close enough to anna.
so after they left, i went a-napping. same with mum, i guess. i woke up once for the bedpot, then ... urg, i've forgotten her name. kerry? >< sorry. she came, and i had lunch at 4:40, after mum made me walk out here. *sigh* as much as i don't want to die anymore, i hate my life. seriously.
lunch was a toasted cheese and tomato sandwhich, plus a glass of milk.
i'm off to send an email to pole and smelly, then will try for naruto, even if i don't think it'll work coz i've got less than half an hour left. anyways, have a nice week, everyone! au revoir!
cheers,
em. !^!^

SATURDAY POST/200TH POST!!!!!!!!

wow - lookee! this is the 200th post! wonder how long i can keep this up?
well, this is a work in progress, coz i'm waiting for vincent the physio to get here, in another half hour, i guess. actually, i've already walked 1220 steps already, so yeah ... just chatting to evan now.
well, half my prayers were answered this morning coz uncle wallace the OT didn't materialise, whoops, 2:07 and the physio is here, so i'm off. see yous afterwards!
well, 3:34 now, physio over. another 295 steps, so the whole total for saturday is ... umm, 1515. should be right, seeing as i cheated and borrowed the internet calculator! hehe ... i'm just happy i passed the 1000 mark; not sure i can do that every day ... but i'll try my best!
KERRY'S HERE NOW, I THINK SHE ONCE HAD BREAST CANCER, BUT SHE'S ALL BETTER NOW. SHE'LL GIMMEE A SHOWER, AND I HOPE SHE WILL FEED ME ARVO TEA TOO! whoops, sorry, stupid me shrieking again. sorry ><
anyways, i got the physio to promise me that next week he'll wear a funny costume. also, he promised me he'll stay still for kat jiejie to practise her kamehamehas on, even though he's a bit worried she'll get his eyeball. lol. dad's just gone out to go swimming to get some groceries and practise his fish skills at the local pool, AJ.
so ... some reading for me now, i think. hope to see most of you guys at church toms! and fingers crossed for some decent lunch! either a 2 piece feed or an ultimate burger meal from KFC. but if not, then a medium bacon deluxe meal from hungry jacks, drink changed to an OJ or a chocolate milkshake. but, if SERIOUSLY no luck from the lunch thing, then a large kebab with extra cheese and pineapple. lol, i is drooling now. adios!
cheers,
em. ^!^
p.s. thanks to evan who taught me 'adios' is actually a spanish word.

friday post

hmm... it's a new record from me today - 1601 steps! means i can bug vince for another postcard, hehe. oh, and spam count for the week is 111. average, i'd guess.
well, got up this morning fairly late, just bread, marg and jam with a cup of milo before going to sit on that noisy chair. back home, mum made me walk back in - the way i remember it, always lean to the left! regardless of which foot you move, it's just only to the left!
for some weird reason, mum accused me of not walking properly - i already know you always have to throw all your weight to the LEFT, irrespective of which foot it is time to move. well i admit i honestly tried my best - and will continue to do so!
sadly, not only that, mum didn't just refuse to get me a microwaveable lunch out (she said 2 a week was already too much - or was it 2 on consecutive days? beats me) mum said no yummy fish in the oven for me either. oh well, i guess she's ruled out lunch for me - remember, skipping a meal once a month is reportedly healthy for you, so fair enough.
i'm only allowed to be online for an hour instead of 2, as usual. i guess ... all i can say? my life sucks. get used to it! lol.
well, time to send an email to my physios. hope to see most of yous at church toms! adios, amigos! (which language is that in anyway?)spanish?
cheers,
em. !^^

thursday post

ok, so steps today was either 1300 or 1400, so let's just be safe and say 1350, ok?
so, got up nice and early this morning, breakfast was toast with margarine and jam and a cup of milo, before off we trundled to the day hospital we go. too bad, no morning tea, and katherine my OT still hasn't contacted uncle wallace yet, but fingers crossed!
that finished, we went to the loo, then i sat and waited for mum while she went to get the paper. an elderly lady told me i had to watch kung fu panda, i hope i get to too!so, mum came back and we went home. microwaveable lunches for us both - yummy hokkien noodles with chicken for me, and nowhere near as yummy beef lasagne for mum. but we both enjoyed a cup of plain milk.
lonely will come at 3, so i hope not too many exercises are in stall for me. but at least i'm sure you'll be glad to hear i don't want to be dead anymore, mainly coz i'd miss my parents too much.
oh dear - must keep poor chloe in our prayers - she's got a nasty flu!
righteo - reading time again! i just hope i can meet pole for a movie and lunch toms! laters~
cheers,
em. !^!^
p.s. state of origin decider - WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! haha to the new south welshman, that's THREE in a row for us now. ha.

WEDnesday post

ok, steps today - 855. not a lot, but at least i passed the 800 set by aunty a!
so, got up fairly late this morning, and mum made me walk to the breakfast table. a microwaved yummy pasta thing for breakfast and a cup of milo for me - sadly, no chicken, but rather surprisingly, like 5 pieces of mushroom!
after, mum grabbed me for a good 75 mins of arm exercises, but thankfully, no standing. i must remember to ask the OT toms whether or not i'm allowed to use all three fingers - thumb, pointer, and rude, to pick up exercise objects -e.g. theraputty and marble- or whether it's just thumb and pointer allowed.
exercises all done, mum made me a yummy chicken, cheese and mayo sandwhich and put it in the new sandwhich press she'd bought recently. so i ate it while she hung up the washing. surprisingly yummy! but it could do with more mayo next time; twas a wee bit dry. but we need to buy a new bottle anyway, we're running out.
so, toms i've only got OT from 9 -10; PT is cancelled this week coz she's taking hols with her school kids. i only hope habib comes with morning tea and pole finds us for lunch. ah well, but as i always say, fingers crossed, but hopes not up. oh well.
ok, a-reading, here we come! apparently, tonight some lady called lonely is coming over. unique name, that's for sure!
righteo, catch yous all toms!
cheers,
em. ^^
